- BICHU FIBREThe name in India for the fibre from the stinging nettle, Urtica Dioica. The plant yields a large amount of fibre of large diameter. The plant is a common one in the U.S.A. and grows on waste land. In Sweden it is cultivated to some extent for its fibre, and used for cordage, low cloth, etc., and is known as Swedish hemp.
